Don's interest in computing started as a undergrad at the University of Lethbridge. His interest in computer mathematical modeling of complex mathematics developed at Queens, where he created stacks of cards for his simulations.

At AECL he coded the modeling of Self Powered Flux Detectors, a supervisory control and data acquisition system for in core instrumentation, tomography scanner control and data analysis, artificial vision, and a fault tree code.
Don now runs a small software house, Apps&More Software Design, Inc.

His coding experience includes Basic, Fortran, C, C++, Objective-C, and Swift.

His first big project was Script Timer for Macs, which was kept it on the market for 16 years. It was a good run, and a lot of the customers ended up friends. Apps & More customers spanned the globe, coming from (among others): Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, U.K., and U.S.A.

They included software publishers and developers, desktop publishers, government and university labs, web designers, graphic artists, small offices, radio stations and newspapers, libraries, churches (to construct an alternate to an electronic carillon), industry, lighting and advertising companies, universities, colleges, and schools, commercial kitchens, and individual users
Don then shifted to iOS. He currently has a psychiatric testing app, Mental Health Scales, on the iPad and iPhone in collaboration with a Johns Hopkins trained psychiatrist. It has doctors all around the world using it.
